SADCO Project title: Pathfollowing methods for parametric control problems with inequality constraints
A major difficulty for pathfollowing methods, as required for example in optimization-based controller design, is that the arc structure can change when inequality constraints can become active or inactive. This makes application of Newton type predictor corrector methods impossible. Instead, methods are needed which solve, at each step, a generalized equation that corresponds to a quadratic approximation of the problem at hand. The aim of this project area is to extend this approach, which has been developed in a finite dimensional setting, to apply to optimal control problems with control and state constraints.
