  • Task : The PhD is supposed to work in the interdisciplinary project „Optimal control approaches to reachability analysis“ with the aim to develop collision avoidance algorithms for cars using optimal control techniques. The project is jointly supervised by Volkswagen AG, Prof. Dr. Matthias Gerdts (Universität der Bundeswehr München), and Dr. Robert Baier (University of Bayreuth). The PhD is supposed to participate in the training network SADCO with the opportunity of extended research stays at universities.
  • Qualifications:
    • MSc degree in mathematics or a related subject
    • background in optimal control and/or nonlinear programming
    • desirable interest in developing, analyzing, and realizing mathematical algorithms and concepts in applications
    • programming skills, analytical thinking, communication skills, ability to work in a team
  • Restrictions: The prospective candidate must not have been employed in Germany for more than 12 months within the past 3 years (Marie Curie general principles).
